On July 31, 2026, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) announced the state’s paid leave premium rate for 2027. The premium rate will remain unchanged at 0.88% for 2027, which also covers family leave (0.27%) and medical leave (0.61%). For small employers, the premium rate will also remain unchanged at 0.66% for 2027. To qualify as a small employer, an employer must have 30 or fewer employees for each quarter, and employee wages cannot exceed 150% of the state average weekly wage ($27,745.88) per quarter.
