Rugby Canada and NFP Extend Partnership Through 2028

July 9, 2026 (Langford, BC) — Rugby Canada is proud to announce that NFP, an Aon company, has renewed their partnership to continue the support of Canada’s Women’s Rugby Team and the growth of grassroots rugby. As part of the partnership, NFP remains the Official Insurance Broker of Rugby Canada, and has proudly supported the training and development of the team’s players since 2022.

NFP has consistently identified the value of Canada's Women's Rugby Team beyond the pitch, investing in the entire rugby life cycle to fuel the training, development and pathways of tomorrow. From the development of the Let’s Play Rugby program, which has engaged 950 girls over three years to try non-contact rugby, to supporting Canada’s National women's players in reaching their peak performance, this partnership continues to build a strong ecosystem for Canadian rugby.

This summer, Rugby Canada and NFP will host the Let’s Play Rugby program in communities across Canada, expanding programming and engagement around the official Rugby World Cup rematch fixtures in Ontario this October. Together, the organizations look forward to introducing rugby to more girls aged 13 – 16, developing their skills and creating accessible pathways for long-term participation in the sport.

“NFP has been an excellent broker for the organization, looking after the insurance requirements for all of Rugby Canada, and we’re grateful they’ve chosen to continue their sponsorship with us,” said Nathan Bombrys, CEO of Rugby Canada. “From the outset, NFP had the vision to get behind Canada’s Women’s Rugby Team when no one else did, and that investment has had a big hand in our team’s success. We look forward to continuing the partnership and building on NFP’s support for Canada’s Women’s National Team.”

As a part of the renewed partnership, NFP will continue its commitment to supporting the high-performance pathway for Canada’s Women’s Rugby Team, with its brand transitioning to the team’s training kit. This evolution reflects NFP’s ongoing investment in the preparation and development of Canada’s Women’s National Team, while supporting Rugby Canada’s efforts in diversifying the organization’s sponsorship opportunities.

"We’re proud to renew our support for Rugby Canada and continue our relationship in a way that reflects our commitment to our Canadian communities and the sport,” said Lesley Munk, associate general counsel, NFP Canada, and an executive sponsor of the Rugby Canada and NFP partnership. “From our grassroots participation to our training support, we’re dedicated to helping Canada’s Women's National Team prepare and perform at the highest level."
