The Problem
An owner-controlled insurance program for a large golf course development project had been set up incorrectly, and several on-site contractors had been excluded. When the project doubled in scope, the project team was financially unprepared to meet both the significant additional premiums and increased construction costs.

The NFP Solution
NFP took over program administration, corrected the general contractor issue and removed other administrative issues through communications and an on-site visit. We negotiated with carriers to apply the premium already paid to the new program and found favorable terms for the cancellation and insurance rewrite. The team recouped money for the client on insurance credits, since there hadn’t been a system for general contractor bidding on the project, to reflect the insurance purchased by the owner.

The Problem
A private equity-backed national paving company with 1,000 employees wanted to address cost and management problems with their incumbent broker. The paving company had acquired a company and identified a 401(k) plan affordability compliance issue, which, if audited, could result in $1M in fines.

The NFP Solution
The NFP team helped the company unbundle their current medical program. With support from our Rx Solutions program and stop-loss experts, the team provided more value to the group and offered a more proactive approach to managing the benefits plans. For the 401(k) plan, the NFP team negotiated a 45.8% fee reduction and implemented a collective investment trust to reduce fees and address the plan affordability issue.
