NEW YORK - December 21, 2022 - NFP, a leading property and casualty broker, benefits consultant, wealth manager and retirement advisor, today announced the hiring of Andrew Canning, senior vice president and head of Project Risk Advisory, for the company's growing North America Construction & Infrastructure group. The group, part of NFP's Specialty business, provides clients with comprehensive construction and surety services designed specifically for complex national and cross-border projects.

Canning will focus on delivering a suite of insurance and analytics tools that support risk management strategies for construction and infrastructure projects across North America. He will collaborate with leading construction insurance industry expert Chris Smith, an NFP senior vice president and head of Project Risk who is also part of the company's Construction & Infrastructure group. Together, they will drive connectivity across the value chain of NFP construction projects.

'We're thrilled for Andrew to join the Specialty business within NFP. His impact on the construction and infrastructure insurance sector is unparalleled,' said Smith. 'He brings more than 30 years of experience and a well-earned reputation as a leader who drives innovation and delivers holistic and well-structured solutions to clients.'

Canning joins NFP from Marsh, where he served as managing director and led the construction team that provided innovative solutions for clients' projects and practice risks. Prior to this, he served as senior vice president at Aon Risk Services, providing expertise in national and international construction projects. His background also includes leadership roles with Amoco, Near North Insurance Brokerage and Wrapid Specialty.

'With the increasing complexity stakeholders face in the construction and infrastructure sector - whether it's inflation, supply chain, ESG or technological transformation - NFP is developing innovative tools and solutions to address these issues,' said David Bowcott, managing director, Construction and Infrastructure, NFP.
