Steve Jans is the vice president of the Wealth Management team for NFP’s Minnesota office and is also a financial advisor and the managing director of the Financial Wellness Division.

For more than 25 years, Steve has worked closely with businesses to design financial wellness programs for their employees. Steve looks to empower employees through unbiased education to help them effectively manage personal finances and retirement savings. He also works with individuals and families to help design investment strategies that support them as they move toward their financial goals.

A graduate of St. Cloud State University, Steve earned a degree in political science with a minor in economics. He holds his Securities Series 6 (Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Limited Representative), Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law Exam), and Series 65 (Uniform Investment Adviser Law Exam) registrations through Kestra Investment Services, LLC. He also holds Life, Accident and Health Insurance licenses.

Steve is actively involved in his community, coaching youth baseball and basketball. He also serves as the president of the St. Michael-Albertville Boys Basketball Association. Steve enjoys and cherishes the time he spends with his wife and three sons. Together, they enjoy golfing and spending time at their cabin.

Bryan K. Brenner, Managing Director, loves connecting with people, making an impact on his community, and seeing fresh ideas take flight. He built First Person, which was acquired by NFP in May 2021, to advise organizations in the selection of comprehensive and cost-effective benefits – a key component in the attraction and retention of top talent in today’s competitive marketplace. 

Bryan is passionate about helping Indianapolis grow while retaining its welcoming spirit. He dedicates time to charitable work by serving on several boards including the Butler University Board of Trustees, Progress House – an Aspire company, and the Indy Chamber. Joining YPO in 2013, Bryan has served as communications chair and membership chair. He has been named to the Indiana 250 list in 2022, 2023 and 2024. 

Bryan graduated cum laude from Butler University with degrees in Public & Corporate Communications and Journalism. In 2021, Bryan earned his Master of Science in Positive Organization Development from Case Western Weatherhead School of Management. He has also earned the designation of Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC) from American College, Bryn Mawr, PA.

Mark plays an integral role on our leadership team as Senior Vice President, helping carry the NFP vision. In addition to leading our internal team, he collaborates with clients to build innovative, long-term, benefits and compensation strategies.

Since 2013, Minner has served as the play by play “Voice of the Butler Bulldogs” for men’s basketball broadcasts on the PNC Butler Radio Network. He has called other sporting events for Fox Sports and the Big East Digital Network, as well as NCAA championships for Turner Sports.

Minner is a 2012 graduate of Butler University with dual degrees in both Marketing and Electronic Journalism. In 2019, Minner was named to the Indianapolis Business Journal’s prestigious Forty Under 40 list. In 2016, he was awarded Employee Benefit Advisers “Rising Star in Advising” honor. Mark was also named a two-time finalist for Junior Achievement of Central Indiana’s “Best and Brightest.”

In the community Minner is an active leader of the Penrod Society, served on the Executive committee for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night event, and is on the Board of Trustees at Butler University. Minner also volunteers as a family mentor for the Exodus Refugee organization in Indianapolis.

With more than 15 years of experience, Matt has witnessed the evolution of HR from a purely administrative department to one that is strategically engaged in creating a happy, innovative and engaged workplace. He believes happy employees create happy customers, and happy customers create business growth.

As Vice President, Client Operations, Matt’s focus is on defining and implementing strategic business initiatives, employee experience, talent and development, and creating scalable processes. He also ensures his team delivers on day-to-day HR, Finance, and IT processes and initiatives. His specialty is incorporating people strategies that include leadership, executive coaching, employee relations, recruiting, total rewards, and culture engagement that drive business results.

Matt received a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Purdue University and an MBA from Western Governor’s University. He also has his PHR and SHRM-CP certifications.

Outside of the office, you’ll find Matt and his husband running Spartan races, enjoying the outdoors, being foodies and winos, traveling, and spoiling their dog, Jasper.

It’s a good thing Paul didn’t follow in his father’s footsteps as a world-class actor because he’s much better at creating employee experience strategies for clients. Having been in the benefits industry for nearly 20 years, Paul knows what he’s talking about when it comes to business needs. He’s known for being a connector and getting his clients to the best outcomes in the market.

<p "="">As Vice President & Consultant, Paul works to create and carry the NFP vision. A leader in our sales and advisory, he not only helps clients with great strategies and outcomes but also serves as a mentor to many on our team. Paul knows his clients as well as he knows his wine and wine history (and that says a lot for this sommelier).

Paul is a graduate of Ball State University, completed his Masters in Leadership, Strategy, and Management at Michigan State University’s Broad College of Business. In addition, he holds the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School/International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plan (IFEBP) as part of the IFEBP’s Certified Employee Benefit Specialist program. In the community, Paul is the past board President of Outreach. Inc. and the Central Indiana ISCEBS Chapter. Currently, Paul is an Adjunct Professor at Butler University’s Davey Risk Management at the Lacy School of Business and serves on the LLS Indiana Executive.

Alli is unassuming, selfless, and has a genuine interest in other people. Her innate ability to understand and relate to others makes her a fantastic fit as the Vice President, Growth. She has a passion for clients and a devotion to the people of NFP’s Indianapolis office.

This Butler University graduate (and devotee) holds her Life and Health Insurance license, as well as a SHRM-CP certification. When she’s not attending Butler basketball games or flying around the world with her husband, Alex, and children, Cora and Lincoln, Alli is working hard to bring innovation and growth to life within the firm.

Alli enjoys connecting with others, and loves the relationships she's built at NFP and with clients. Alli believes the people at NFP make the company what it is and helps other companies create strong cultures that support great talent.

Megan strives to create engaging workplaces that value talent by aligning an organization and its goals. This enables her to design valuable compensation structures that attract, engage, and retain top talent.

As Vice President, Total Rewards Practice, Megan advises clients on how to meet their organization’s goals through total rewards and compensation strategy. She builds and designs market competitive base and incentive pay structures throughout the organization, including prioritizing compensation as a key component of the employee value proposition.

With over 16 years’ experience as a volunteer leader at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Megan has invested in building and strengthening the HR community. She is currently the national Membership Advisory Council representative for the North Central Region, which is the highest level of volunteer leadership within SHRM. She is the immediate past State Director for HR Indiana SHRM.

Megan attended Purdue University where she graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Science in Organizational Communication. Megan also received a summa cum laude Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Management from the University of Dayton. She also possesses professional certifications including Certified Compensation Professional (World at Work), SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional), SPHR-CA (Senior Professional in Human Resources, also certified in California) and Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS). Megan most recently served as Senior Human Resources & Compensation Manager at Faegre Baker Daniels law firm.

Outside the office, Megan enjoys supporting local sports teams, reading, and visiting her favorite Indy restaurant, Iozzo’s Garden of Italy. She also loves spending time with her family and her two sons.

Melanie is a cum laude graduate from the University of Notre Dame with more than 30 years of experience in finance. In her role as Controller, it’s Melanie’s goal to ensure that the company’s financial picture guides all decision making.

She specializes in creating smooth financial processes and finds success in ensuring they benefit all users within the organization. An avid sports fan, Melanie was drawn to NFP's collaborative atmosphere and dedication to helping clients win at their benefits and compensation strategies.

Melanie is on a personal journey to find more joy in her every day, whether that’s volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, enjoying time on Lake Maxinkuckee or travelling with her husband. She has found the most joy by spending all her free time with her two new grandchildren.

With a background in finance and football, Brandon has a dynamic approach to advising his clients. He brings strategy to benefits consulting, using analytics to provide financial reasoning to a people-focused approach. The team sports experience – he was a four-year wide receiver for Butler football – creates a drive to work collaboratively with clients to accomplish a common goal.

Brandon majored in Finance at Butler University where he graduated with honors. He holds a Life and Health Insurance license, as well as the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation. Brandon worked at a Chicago brokerage before returning to Indianapolis with his wife, Kylee, a project manager at her family’s home construction business, and their dog, Jax. Outdoors and sports enthusiasts, on summer weekends the three can be found at their southern Indiana river house enjoying all manner of water sports.
