NEW YORK – July 8, 2022 – NFP, a leading property and casualty broker, benefits consultant, wealth manager and retirement advisor, today announced the appointment of Seth Michaelson to the Energy practice within NFP's Specialty business. Michaelson holds the title of vice president, Energy and Marine, and supports the ongoing growth of NFP’s specialty practice. He reports to Vilma Vanegas, senior vice president, practice leader, Energy.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Seth to NFP as we continue to build a team of talented and experienced professionals,” said Vanegas. “Seth’s background working with corporate and middle-market clients, providing insight on mergers and acquisitions, evaluating complicated insurance placements, and navigating complex property and business interruption claims makes him a valued resource to our industry clients.”
Michaelson brings more than 13 years of experience, serving most recently as managing director at Catto & Catto, a division of HUB International of Texas, Inc. Prior to this, he held a variety of brokerage, risk management and business development roles with several organizations, including Wortham Insurance and WTW. While energy and marine will be his main focus, Michaelson will also work with NFP’s real estate and construction specialty practices to leverage the deep relationships he has cultivated in those industries.
Michaelson, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, is a Certified Insurance Counselor through the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research and an Accredited Adviser in Insurance through The Institutes.
“I’m excited to join NFP and work with Vilma and the Energy practice team,” said Michaelson. “Risk management in the energy industry is increasingly more challenging, and organizations need a variety of skilled resources to make decisions regarding new and evolving challenges. NFP is a destination for top specialty talent who are truly experts in their respective fields. NFP’s emphasis on specialization and technical broking, and the opportunity to work with an organization whose values align with mine, sets NFP apart as an employer of choice.”
