NFP Appoints Kim Davis to Board of Directors and Role of Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer
NFP's Ginnette Quesada-Kunkel to become executive vice president and assume role of chief human resources officer
NEW YORK – January 31, 2019 – NFP, a leading insurance broker and consultant that provides employee benefits, property and casualty, retirement, and individual private client solutions, today announced that Kim Davis, formerly NFP's chief human resources officer, is joining NFP's board of directors. In addition, Davis will take on the newly created role of chief diversity and inclusion officer. Ginnette Quesada-Kunkel and Mary Steed will join NFP's Executive Management Committee as chief human resources officer and chief people officer, respectively. These well-deserved promotions further complement NFP's exceptional leadership team and are in line with the company's adherence to diversity and inclusion at all levels.
In her new role, Davis will lead diversity and inclusion initiatives across all departments and levels of NFP. She steps away from her former role as chief human resources officer to drive greater progress and opportunities within the company for women, ethnic minorities and employees of all ages and sexual orientations. Having devoted seven years of service to NFP, Davis has contributed significantly to creating an environment that attracts and retains top talent through our people-first culture. This culture, underpinned by inclusivity, diversity, transparency and purpose, is epitomized by the company's PeopleFirst programs.
"We couldn't be more proud to promote these dynamic, talented and strong leaders to board and executive-level positions within NFP," said Doug Hammond, chairman and chief executive officer of NFP. "This critical step forward reflects our unwavering commitment to a culture that values caring and collaboration in order to drive mutual success, as well as celebrating the power of diversity to harness the intellectual might of different perspectives. We continue to make strides as an inclusive company that aims to closely reflect the businesses, people and communities we serve."
Quesada-Kunkel, currently senior vice president of HR, will become executive vice president and assume oversight for the HR function as chief human resources officer. She will direct the full spectrum of HR activities at NFP with responsibility over all human resources operations, compensation and benefits practices, employee benchmarking, change management, and mergers and acquisitions diligence. Her eleven-year tenure with NFP, her strong technical and strategic knowledge, and experience with various leadership HR roles make her an exceptional choice for this position.
Steed, currently senior vice president of HR, assumes the newly created role of chief people officer. She will focus on the HR management of all field operations as well as the ongoing implementation, pace and progress of NFP's PeopleFirst agenda. As chief people officer, Steed also will continue to oversee all talent management, recruiting and community initiatives. Having also spent eleven years at NFP, Steed brings a knack for coaching and motivating employees to achieve greater levels of success.
"Our people deserve the very best. I am thrilled that they will receive the leadership skills and guidance that Ginette and Mary have to offer," said Davis. "I am equally excited to pursue my passion for diversity and inclusion — and help shape the future direction of these efforts from my position on the board."
