NEW YORK – February 20, 2017 – NFP, a leading insurance broker and consultant that provides employee benefits, property & casualty (P&C), retirement and individual private client solutions, announced today it has acquired McLaughlin & Smoak LLC (M&S). The transaction closed January 20, 2017.
Based in Charleston, SC, M&S is a full-service employee benefits broker also providing ancillary and individual benefits offerings and expertise in wellness and HR consulting. Principals of the firm Colin Smoak and Trey McLaughlin will continue in their current roles and become Directors within NFP’s Corporate Benefits division reporting to Christi Byron, Regional Managing Director of NFP’s Southeast region.
