June 16, 2015
On May 25, 2015, Gov. Sandoval signed AB 292 into law, creating Chapter 153. Chapter 153 stipulates that plans must include coverage for health care services provided through telehealth to the same extent as coverage provided in person. “Telehealth” means the delivery of services from a provider of health care to a patient at a different location via information and audio-visual communication technology, not including standard telephone, facsimile or electronic mail. This requirement is effective for insured health plans in Nevada delivered, issued for delivery or renewed on or after July 1, 2015.
