Insurance Updates Regarding COVID-19

On March 11, 2020, Insurance Commissioner Rude issued Bulletin 20-01, which applies to insurers regulated in Wyoming. The bulletin advises insurers to waive any cost sharing for laboratory diagnostic testing for respiratory syncytial virus, influenza, respiratory panel test and COVID-19. The bulletin also asks insurers to waive the cost sharing for both in-network and out-of-network office visits, urgent care center visits, and other service provided by in-network and out-of-network facilities and laboratories. Finally, the bulletin encourages insurers to make sure that telehealth benefits are available to insureds and that their telehealth programs are able to handle increased demand.

Employers with policies regulated by Wyoming should be aware of these developments.
