On March 18, 2015, Gov. Tomblin signed SB 366 into law, creating Chapter 182. The law creates a new article within the Insurance Code and requires certain information to be published on the Insurance Commissioner’s website regarding qualified health plans (QHPs) offered for sale through the West Virginia Health Benefit Exchange. The law requires the format to be easily found by a consumer, and is provided in order to assist consumers in making informed decisions concerning the purchase of a QHP. The law became effective June 9, 2015.
